Grant Opportunity: Improving Undergraduate STEM Education

September 23, 2014 by Claudia Scholz

The National Science Foundation invites grant proposals to support projects that have the potential to transform undergraduate education in the sciences.  The emphasis in this call is for projects that are “evidence-based” and “evidence-generating”, that is, projects must be grounded in the scholarship of teaching and learning and have the potential to contribute to that literature.

The October 22 deadline is for exploratory projects to enhance student learning.  For projects that are designed to transform institutional or disciplinary cultures related to teaching and learning, the deadline is October 24.  Larger-scale projects can apply in January.

Faculty are asked to let Dr. Scholz know immediately if they plan to apply to one of the IUSE opportunities.
